Description: The Assembly of First Nations is seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented Senior Executive Assistant to support the CEO and to act as the first point of contact for all communication coming through the Sector. The incumbent will be responsible for planning meetings, taking minutes, drafting correspondence, booking travel as required, and providing and coordinating all information to and from the CEO Sector.

Qualifications: Applicants must possess:

  •  A minimum of 5 years of experience providing executive assistant level support to Senior Management position
  •  BA in administration or College Diploma in administration or similar field of study Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  •  Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office software
  •  Intermediate oral and written communication skills
  •  Demonstrated records management experience
  •  Tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
  •  Must have strong client relations experience in working with internal and external stakeholders
  •  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and address issues as they arise
  •  English is the working language although the ability to communicate effectively in French or any Indigenous language would also be an asset

Other Job Requirements:  The AFN requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.

Location:  Ottawa, Ontario. Please note that the AFN is working to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our employees. Our offices have re-opened as of April 4th and are presently operating under a hybrid approach
