In December 2021, the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness announced he would create new First Nations Policing legislation and the federal government committed to working with First Nations to create the federal framework that recognizes First Nations policing as an essential service. Attendees continued to advocate for changes to the First Nations Policing Program (FNPP), equitable funds and resources to create safe communities.
